Icom continues to push the performance of their fixed mount VHFs with the M504 Remote Mic Version. The remote mic allows you to mount the radio where you want it. The remote mount mic can be placed anywhere on your boat with the included 20 foot interconnect cable and bullhead mount connector.The DSC function has been improved to Class D providing a continuous monitoring of Channel 70 through an independent receiver. You'll receive distress calls even if you're using another channel. No other Icom fixed-mount VHF has as many options for operating your radio or listening to it. Monitor the broadcasts through the built-in speaker; or hook the radio to a hailer horn or external speaker and listen to it anywhere on board; or simply use the included speaker mic. Operate the M504 from the generously sized, backlit buttons on the face; the large knobs allow for better control even in rough seas. A large, menu-driven display allows for more information to be shown and easy-to-see channel numbers and names. Control all the functions of the radio from Icom's new COMMANDMIC III remote control. The COMMANDMIC III is truly a full-function second station remote control that nearly duplicates all the functions of the radio in a submersible handheld unit. It employs a large, full dot-matrix backlit display and a "Jog Dial" for fast and easy radio function access.
