I own two other 'extension' saws and have used them for years. One is junk while the other is clunky and hard to work with. Neither is as nice as the Hooeyman. The ten foot length is fine for most work although I do have occasional use for 15' (for which I will use my big clunky saw).
The I-Beam construction is great although a few joints took a little more effort to expand than others. That will probably work better after more use. Tolerance is fairly tight.
For a 10' saw, it packs down well and is light and well designed.
Overall, it does exactly as advertised.
I have an older folding hand saw that cuts more aggressively (chain saw type teeth) but the Hooey isn't a slouch and cuts well.
I used it around the house and for trimming shooting lanes.
For trimming around the house or the woods when you need 'longer arms' this tool is the ticket.

THis product is too large to keep inside a pack but can be strapped to the side, I knew that going in to the purchase. THe extended length is ideal for quick clearing from the stand itself.
