Comments about Guide Series Men's Thinsulate Insulated Jacket:
I bought this at a discounted price. For such a low price I have not found a jacket that compares in warmth and size. For the amount of warmth it can provide and the low price, I would have expected a worse cut and bulkier jacket. For a midwest cold weather jacket, this is very light weight -more like an early spring or late fall jacket with cold winter warmth. When I first tried it on I was very skeptical about its insulation during very windy cold weather, but it stands up to above 10 degree F temps. I'm generally cold compared to most of the people I know, but I'm confident that this coat could stand up to negative temperatures while being slightly active with only minor midweight layoring. This is a find! The zippers have snag issues if you're rushing, but once I realized its quirks, I didn't have any more sang problems. While there are minor changes I would make to the cut, I have found that to be the case with jackets 4 x the cost. I would use this jacket skiing, shoveling snow, a very cold night out on the town when you don't want to worry about an expensive jacket being ruined or stolen at a club or bar, or any activity involving cold. If this jacket came in a solid black and other dark colors I would have bought 2 or 3. I bought the green and charcoal/black version. The red version looks like pink and grey. The blue version is brighter blue and grey. The color options ruined this coats sales -I'm sure of it. The insulation and the cut make this a top competitor for the price range. If it was available in solid dark colors at the same price range, I would likely buy another -even without any other improvements.

Comments about Guide Series Men's Thinsulate Insulated Jacket:
This jacket/parka is bulkier than I had expected which might mean that it will be warm enough for a (normal) Midwestern winter. Just purchased it- Great Price!- so will have to wait a few months to give it a test run. It also runs larger than expected. I am 5'10" and 150 lbs so I usually take a Medium. While it will work well for layering in the Winter it still seems more like a Large. If this jacket was available in a Small I would drop down to that size in this model. But alas for the price you can't really go wrong even if it turned out to be your second choice when you reach into the closet this Winter.
Shipping: If you opted for Gander Mountain's free shipping be patient. It takes about two weeks. They send it the slowest snail courier possible Fedex/USPS trade off system.

A little snug at the bottom, but overall a good fit. The attached hood is a big plus. A great value from Gander Mountain.
