Great Product, good fit, very durable. This product is for the true outdoors man who is outside in the wettest & worst conditions. I have owned two of these TECH20 rain suits (parka/bibs). I replaced a set after a mouse ate holes in them while stored in basement over the winter. My leaving part of a granola bar in a pocket didn't help. I use the TECH20 rain gear primarily for late season Musky fishing in northern Wisconsin. Windy rainy/snow days with temps from upper 20s to lower 50s in a single day. Always more rain than sun & always windy. I stay on the water for 6-8 hour at a time in the worst weather hunting Muskies. My TECH20 jacket & bibs has never once failed. I am always dry, and this stuff is very durable. Several of the guys I fish with have gone from wearing more expensive and some times lighter rain suits to the the TECH20. I also use mine for dog training work in wet weather in the late fall here on the IL/WI border. After seeing my TECH20 gear keep me dry, when everyone else was miserable, the gal who is in charge of dog training purchased one too and said she wished she would have got TECH20 gear sooner. She trains in all weather. I just got my 12 year old son a TECH20 rain parka & bibs for Christmas.

I bought this jacket for my husband as we live in Northern Vermont and are outside in rain, sleet, and lots of high winds on our property. He is outside daily, frequently for hours at a time in bad weather.
He was very excited about this coat, and in fact, the few times he has worn it in heavy rain and wind, it has kept him totally dry.

But the deal breaker is the zipper.

It is INCREDIBLY difficult to get the zipper to line up properly. There appears to be a part of the pull tabs on the bottom stops that interfere with proper alignment if the tabs are not held *just so.* We have both futzed with this thing many times, and have found that we are able to get proper alignment perhaps one out of ten times.
The rest of the time, the teeth of the chain don't appear to be perfectly aligned, and I am afraid the zipper will break with normal wear.

Thus we will be looking for a jacket with all the wonderful qualities of the material quality and fit, but with a zipper that reliably works!

Impressive as a Lightweight Rain Jacket

Comments about Guide Series Men's TecH2O Leader Fishing Parka:

Fall is a rainy season here in Anchorage, with some winds. I wanted a general use rain jacket that I would wear and not over heat. Its lightweight, but I wouldn't classify it as a just in case backpack variety jacket. I've always overlooked the Guide Series as a cheap knock of brand for G Mt. This thing is a home run. I have worn in pouring rain to the point where the outer layer was no longer just repeling water, but it was saturated, then put a back pack on top of that. When I took the coat off, I was still dry. Very pleased with it!

I did mark it as larger than size, its neither form fitting but not over sized. But that may be a pro here. The jacket is thin, if the weather is too cool, I can throw a light fleece jacket on underneath without feeling bulky, or loss of mobility.

I too will have to knock the main zipper a little, it's not like a normal coat where you just set it and rip. It takes me moment to look at what I'm doing and then zip up. I find it's manageable.
