Comments about Guide Series Classic Planer Board Fishing Rod, 86", Medium:

I bought a pair of 8'6" rods for an anual trip to Michigan's Little Bay De Noc where we spend the week trolling planer boards for walleye. I couldn't be happier with these rods. The backbone is solid and they handle the boards without complaint, but have a excellent flexible tips for a great feel when bringing in a walleye whether it's 16" or 26".
Combined with a size 27 line counter reel, these are well balanced and feel good in your hand.

I will certainly buy 2 more for next year's trip, maybe the same size or maybe shorter with a size 17 reel.

I'm also hoping to run these as outside boards high in the water for salmon this fall, will post back as to how they perform.

Comments about Guide Series Classic Planer Board Fishing Rod, 86", Medium:

Fantastic rods for boards and lead core. I bought two rods and was a bit skeptical because of the light weight rods . Ran three core with/ without boards and really impressed with the strength and action. I bought four more rods for lead core also.
For running three core with/ without boards with crank baits this setup is ideal and at a reasonable price to boot.
