    Hunting preparing meats.
I have only used once but in just minutes was finished with what was taking hours with my older and smaller grinder. It is heavy, but the weight keeps it stable and you don't have to worry about it tipping over in use. I like the handy storage drawer for all the parts. Looking forward to getting another deer or two to really put it through the course.

I have used other electric grinders in the past and decided to get one for myself rather than borrow one. This grinder has a circuit breaker built in. The very first time I used the machine I started off by attempting to grind some beef tallow to mix in with venison. The circuit breaker kept kicking off.......i.e. the grinder jammed and I had to disasseble the grinder head and clean it out to get it to work again. When I started back at grinding the tallow the only way I could grind the tallow without the circuit breaker kicking off was to feed chunks of tallow in one small piece at a time......in a 3/4 HP grinder it should grind up tallow like butter......which is kind of the consistency of tallow. That evening we ground up 100 pounds of venison and the grinder jammed up several times throughout the evening and had to be disassembled and cleaned out for it to keep working. It was also very difficult to feed meat through the grinder with any speed......required lots of tamping to get the grinder to suck the meat in....lots of physical pressure. The tamper to push meat into the throat of the grinder is not large or long enough to do an adequate job. As a comparison, I have ground meat in the past with a friends grinder that is only 1/2 HP in half the time and with half the effort. I plan to return this grinding after my one very poor experience with it.

Comments about Guide Series #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder; 3/4 HP Motor:

When I first.started processing my own deer I bought a hand grinder. Quickly gave up on that. This grinder is amazing. It grinds as fast as i can fill the hopper.
I agree with another review. If this grinder bogs down you didn't get all the bones out.
All the meat I have put through it has never had a problem. It just asks for more.
As far a noisy... It is a grinder.
      I highly recommend

My brother and I bought this grinder together to grind deer mostly.Maybe the negative reviews had a bad one I dont know.If so thats why they have a five year warranty.Me and my brother love this thing. We have ground several deer on this one.I just ground 98 pounds of wild hog with a little fat mixed with it, worked great. If anyone is choking this thing down they need to debone the meat first. This thing is 3/4 horse power I haven't met many men could hold a 1/2 horse drill when it gets in a bind and known a few to break a arm trying. You cant choke 3/4 horse power with meat.If you can stand the price this grinder can stand the test. But if you offered my money back I'd just keep the grinder.

My wife is back to helping me again. She quit me and my old grinder. She used this grinder to help me process my elk and she loves it. Great power no bogging down and no extra effort. Overall very happy that we purchased this product

Comments about Guide Series #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder; 3/4 HP Motor:

I was a little skeptical at first due to the 2 negative reviews, but the good reviews sounded great plus the salesman said if I was not happy I could return it. When I started out it was jamming and bogging down, which sounded much like what happened with regards to the 1 review. I figured that Gander would not put their name on a product if it was junk so I thought there had to be a simple solution; the solution was very simple, The Blade Was On Backwards!!! I turned the blade around and it worked great! The grinder cut up the meat as fast as I could feed it. Another bonus is that it is quiet. I would definately recommend this to my friends.
