We have the Yeti 1250 hooked up to a single 250 watt solar panel that is mounted in the back yard. We opted to go this route after realizing how many 30 watt panel we would need. Plus we are using it for our home business, and wanted something more permanent. We pull in up to 238 watts with mid-day sun, which allows us to completely run a small fridge continually (uses @140 watts when engaged in the cooling process). During sunny days our power level stays above 80% and is often at full charge. Allowing us to still have a fully charged back up power source for when the electricity goes out. To increase our storage capacity Goal Zero sent us a free chainable cable to connect a deep cycle marine battery to doubling our stored watts. We LOVE IT!!! Definitely love the large panel too!

Bought this product 2 years ago, just kept it on charge at the house in case of emergency, one day it quit charging, contacted the factory and spoke with their people, who seem to know less than me about it; which wasn't much.

As far as I can tell there is no reset button, their only advice was to take it down to where I could diconnect the jumper like cables to the battery, did that with no success. This thing is as dead as a doornail with no hope of resurrection.

I feel like when I contact their service department it is like talking to some middle school students on a day outing from class.

Your on your own if you buy one of these.

Perfect Addition to My Boat

By MikeS

Comments about Goal Zero Yeti 1250 Solar Generator With Roll Cart:

We live aboard a sailboat. When out, I needed a way to run our 110 V refrigerator when away from shore power. The Yeti 1250 plus solar panels has been the answer. Because of the curved surfaces, I purchased two relatively inexpensive Renogy 100 W flexible solar panels and wired them to the AP input of the Yeti 1250. The system works great, keeps the refrigerator going on extended trips away from the marina. In this application, the Yeti 1250 is functioning as an extra "house-bank" battery/controller. The Yeti 1250 works as advertised. It is a great product!

Cheap NO, Worth it YES

By Edward3136

Comments about Goal Zero Yeti 1250 Solar Generator With Roll Cart:

I was reluctant to spend the money on this thing, but have purchased many other Goal Zero products and have been extremely satisfied with every one of them, so I took the plunge. I use the Yeti for power outages which usually don't last long where I live. I am able to light the entire house with LED work lights and also run small appliances without any issues at all. I do not include the refrigerator or freezer because they are just too much of a draw. I have a regular gas generator if it comes to that, but I don't want to fire up the generator every time the lights blink out for an hour or two. The awesome thing about the Yeti is that there is no gas, fumes or noise to worry about, so for a short power outage it's perfect. I also use the Yeti when I go camping in my car. The Yeti performs like a champ and again without gas, fumes or noise, so I'm able to keep it inside the car and don't have to run a generator outside or find a place to plug in. I can charge all of my gadgets, laptop and run small appliances without any trouble. This is much better than running these things off of the car battery and perhaps finding out in the morning that the car won't start. On a short overnight trip, I don't even bother bringing the solar panels because the capacity is enough to just change it when I get home. After doing much research on these kinds of devices, I have discovered that some people are put off by the price and say that you can build something like it for a fraction of the cost. If you're an electrical engineer that might be a great option, but I'm a simple guy and don't have that kind of expertise. Others claim that you can buy some other product that's "just as good" for a fraction of the price. BEWARE and read some of the rest of the reviews for those products. They are not the same quality as the Goal Zero products. I base that statement on my own experience with many Goal Zero products not just the Yeti. Spending a little extra gives me ease of use, quality and reliability that I have come to love. Charge it, use it, enjoy it, and repeat.

Comments about Goal Zero Yeti 1250 Solar Generator With Roll Cart:

Bought the 1250 about 18 months ago for power source in remote cabin (off the grid). Permanently installed 4 30 watt Boulder panels. Use for lighting (8 DC from Goalzero), electronics, power tools and small refrigerator. Works great for weekend use. We are extremely pleased.

Powers my astronomy gear all night

By Codex1554

from Camas, WA, United States

Comments about Goal Zero Yeti 1250 Solar Generator With Roll Cart:

I purchased this unit last year before a star party in California. I prefer the solar solution to the traditional gas-powered generator because it's much more efficient and doesn't make any noise (important to me when stargazing!). The unit charged during the day using 4 Boulder 30s and was able to power two laptops and two telescopes all night long. No worries at all. If there's any con to the unit it's a bit heavy but that's expected. Price is a bit above what I would have preferred.
