Comments about Gander Mountain Grizzly 8-Person Family Dome Tent:

I've been camping for nearly 15 years, and I take good care of my equipment. I've been looking for a 12x10 as that seems to be the perfect size footprint for 2-4 people. It took me 30 minutes to put this up by myself. This tent is perfectly designed with 2 windows/2 doors allowing for cross-breeze, a high center to stand in, but most of all, walls are designed to go nearly straight up. This allows a room that feels more spacious, not confining because of slanted walls. You can move your bed closer to the side allowing for greater space in the middle. The light colors of the fabric keep the tent from getting to hot during the day, so if you want to take a nap, you're not napping in an oven. The light but sturdy fabric makes for easy cleaning if treated properly. The first time using this tent, it stormed. With all the guy-lines attached, the tent moved with the wind, but didn't budge. The rain pelted the sides, but because of the design of the side windows, I was able to keep the side opposite of the wind open without water coming. Condensation was minimal, and dried quickly once the sun came out. The only drawback I would say is the floor fabric seems thin, but if you buy an outdoor carpet at your hardware store, makes me less cautious about tearing the floor. Overall, I've had many many compliments on this tent and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I bought this on sale, but would buy this tent again at full price!

Comments about Gander Mountain Grizzly 8-Person Family Dome Tent:

My wife and I were looking for a big tent after being stuck in a much smaller tent last fall during a storm. I ordered a huge brand-X tent that I immediately sold because of lack of ventilation and bought this instead. Glad I did as this tent was exactly what I was looking for: a large tent with ventilation that can take on a storm.

The four corner pockets are a perfect size for keys, glasses, wallet, phone, etc. Setup was easy, although not for one person. I took it out the first time without having set it up before (not that I'm endorsing that mentality) and it was almost foolproof. There are plenty of guy attachment points, so even with it's mass it's not going anywhere.

I'm trying to think if there was anything I didn't like about it but honestly I can't think of any. Ok, if I was being real picky, I would have made the poles aluminum to save weight and add strength. It is a huge tent that during a wind storm will be beat on. I would have paid more for this feature, but it's not enough to crab about for sure.
