My first meat grinder, freakin aweasome! No problems with 50lbs of deer burger. Also made 25 lbs. of deer sausage at the same time. Grinder never slowed down. You must buy the aftermarket stuffer that fits the neck perfectly. Also the lem tape machine is a must.

Comments about Gander Mountain #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder:

I had bought a smaller, less powerful grinder a couple of years ago. It "worked" but it was always a hassle to cut the meat into small chunks, make sure all the silver skin was off, and I had to feed the meat slowly or else the grinder would jam. I finally purchased this machine after seeing all of the other positive reviews and looking at the machine in the store. I could not be happier with my purchase! This machine is SOLID and powerful. I ground eleven pounds of pork to make sausage and it performed flawlessly. It took longer to wash the machine afterwards than it did to grind the meat. Spend the extra money and buy this machine--you will not regret it.

Comments about Gander Mountain #12 Stainless Steel Electric Meat Grinder:

Received as a Christmas gift from the most awesome girlfriend on the planet!

I used this grinder to make my first batch of venison summer sausage, which turned out great! I wish it came with 2 cutter blades, they "mate" to the die and should not be interchangeable, but not a deal breaker by any means. Before I switched the grinder on, I dabbed a bit of vegetable oil between the die and blade for lubrication. I cut 10 lbs venison and Boston butt into 2" X 4" chunks and popped them into the freezer for about 1.5 hrs (till firm not solid). The grinder never labored or struggled as it ground my mixture, and I was done before I knew it. I mixed the cure and spices together and reground with the small/fine die. NOTE: Gander Mountain sells a 25lb mixer that is only compatible with the "Guide series grinder" not the commercial grinder. I just used the hand crank, which worked out fine, again not a deal breaker. I dropped the meat into the Gander Mountain sausage stuffer, which made 3 beautiful sausage logs. I let them cure in the fridge for about 18 hrs. Using a meat thermometer, I smoked the logs for about 6 hrs until 156 degrees was reached.

If you buy the #12 meat grinder you will not be disappointed, just pick up an extra cutting blade and some food safe lubricant. Since I uses mine seasonally, I kept the original packaging and store it out of the way.

Follow the directions and grinding meat will be soooo easy. Grind through meat without clogging. It may be somewhat heavy but it is sturdy and appears well made. It may be expensive but it is worth every penny.
