since I started buying gander mountain brand rods/reels - I havent bought anything since. they work and feel great, never have issues with performance. I did break a reel once jigging for walleye (holding rod like a pencil with my hand behing reel) - brought in to gander, gave me fair value on it, hooked me up with this beauty for like $5 extra! used it trout fishing and was super! love me some gander mt guide series and gsx
