Comments about GSX Titanium2 Series Spinning Reel: 10:

I purchased this reel just before the fall salmon run. I typically spool it with 6 or 8 pound mono and use it on a 9 foot spinning rod. It is small enough that I have adapted it for use as my summer reel on a 7 foot medium light rod and haven't had any issues with the weight or balance. The drag works very well, the anti-reverse is flawless, and the reel casts great, even when the line is getting a bit low.

BUT... the screw that holds the bail together (the one that goes into the line roller) CONTINUALLY backs itself out. I have had the bail literally fall off the reel on two separate occasions (fortunately, the screw didn't fall into the river), even after becoming aware of the constant need to tighten the screw. Further, as the screw begins to back out, a small gap forms that is large enough for my line to fit into, resulting in nicks when the line gets pinched between the bail and the portion of the reel where it mounts. Granted, it is a relatively inexpensive reel, but my 10 year old Pfluegar that I paid $50 for never had any issues like this at all until it died of old age...

I suppose some loctite would solve the problem, but I shouldn't (I don't think) need to modify the reel to make it reliable...
