Comments about Gander Mountain 6.5" Aluminum Pliers:
I bought these in my local store today. When I got home, I noticed that the plier jaws didn't line up correctly...the pliers had an "over-bite" and didn't close completely, the crimps were out of whack, and the cutting blades were off. I took the pliers back to the store to exchange them for a better set and had to sort through about 20 pairs before I found a set that had everything aligned correctly.
They look like they'll great pliers but due to some apparently poor quality control, I wouldn't recommend buying them online.
Some things that were not mentioned in the product description:
-The pliers are kept in the open position under spring tension...I like it.
-The sheath attaches via a metal clip on the back...narrow enough to fit in the attachment point on my Stohlquist PFD. It also has a handy spot that I was able to zip-tie to keep the sheath from sliding off the PFD mount.
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
