I have the prior generation of this and I absolutly love it... Spend a lot of time out ice fishing with it... my only real con for it is that its to heavey and bulky for 1 person to load easily into the truck so you really have to go fishing with 2 people. It is very easy to use and I have been using mine for several seasons with no problems at all... I have friends that have other brands and they have problems with the support poles on theirs but mine hase worked great because frabil made the supports a little bit heavier duty then the other ones.

I purchased the trekker dlx. after reading all the great reviews and looking at them at Gander Mountain. First, SEATS, were the selling point, they are very good. ASSEMBLY, fairly easy, the weatherstrip that attaches the cover to the sled was a little difficult to get lined up correctly and then running screws through it seemed odd but worked quite well, screws are a bit short and a couple stripped out thus requiring extras to be installed. FRAME, good, easy to assemble, put up and take down. SLED, needs wax and runner kit for sure, pulling by hand is more like plowing without the extras, Finally, The DOORS, the zippers are my only sadness with this product, it advertises a double zipper door, I didn't look hard enough at them before purchasing, it has one zipper with a pull at each end, not a double zipper that allows for an opening wherever you choose to place it, makes it difficult to open to get in or out of, I'm going to take it apart and take it to my boat cover guy and have him sew in a good zipper or maybe he can upgrade this one. Then I will have a great shanty. Would not have bought this model had I took a better look at those zippers. Good Fishing, Thanks

Glad i got the frabill and not the clam, only issue is putting it together, HAVE PATIENTS AND LOTS OF BEER. Weather stripping could been better designed, not a huge fan of drilling holes in a shelter i spent good money on, Metal clamps work well.

Thought I was a clam man.But after looking at them in Gander Mountain I was disappointment.I looked and sat in every model and wasn't very impressed with the quality or price. Seems to me Clam kept their price up and cut the quality.So I started checking out the Frabills. Found better quality and price. I went with the Frabill Trekker D.L.X and I love it! Nice seats and plenty of room to fish two people.The only con I have is it has no floor.Im used to having a floor.But I plan on cutting a rug or piece of plywood to solve the problem. Im sure Frabill also offers something.

The Frabill Trekker DLX is the perfect 2 person flip-over ice shack.I have a Clam Pro TC 1 man flip-over that I really like,so when it came time for me to purchase a 2 person shack I was looking at the Clam Nanook.After reading reviews of how the Nanooks seats aren't comfortable I had to try them out for my self,they couldn't be that bad,right?A local store had one on display and after sitting in the Nanook,the seats do suck.They mount directly to the sled rail so you can not slide them left or right,they are narrow and do not fold for transport.I thought I was a Clam Man.I bought the Trekker DLX and I am 100% satisfied. The seats are super comfortable and slide left to right.I guess I am now a member Of the Frabill Nation.

I absolutely LOVE my trekker dlx. I have had it for 3 seasons now and have been out in below 0 temps. It sets up in minutes and takes down even faster which is great in cold weather. Plenty of room for gear. And coupled with my Mr. Heater I stay nice and warm. The only gripe I have which is a small one is I have had some trouble keeping the weather stripping on and need to maybe modify it or hit it with a heat gun. If you don't want to spend [$] an a portable shanty I would strongly recommend this product.
