    Hard to find product found

    Caution before drilling holes

    Bought these to re-locate ladder holes, previous pontoon owner had holes too close to edge which had stressed & broke the existing cups. Did not have the exact drill saw diameter to fit th...Read complete review

    Bought these to re-locate ladder holes, previous pontoon owner had holes too close to edge which had stressed & broke the existing cups. Did not have the exact drill saw diameter to fit these, so went the next size up. Installed new cups and swim ladder still created some side loading on the cups & since the drilled hole was larger, the cups deflected to the edge of the drilled hole and the plastic cracked at the mounting screws. Sawed off ends of the cup bottoms since they were about 2 inches deeper than the deck plywood, helping to minimize the deflection force. Avoiding rating of one star because holes were drilled too big and product description clearly states to use with ladder #38805 only. On the other hand, instructions on exact hole size to use would have been helpful & there are plastics available that will not crack when stressed.

          I purchased a ladder from Overtons around Christmas and it came with one (2 mounting cups) for one side of the boat. So,I purchased a second set to install on the other side. Received the product in about 3 days and installed the cups in about 5 mintues. Once again excellent service from Overton's!!!!
