Comments about Eagle Claw Powerlight Spinning Combo, 6'6", Medium Light:

I bought this combo (6'6" ML) when I was just starting out a few years ago. Since then I've added more expensive gear, but honestly I can't tell the difference from the more expensive gear. The rod is very sensitive for catching crappie but plenty of backbone for landing 18" large mouth bass and 36" northern pike. I use it for trolling, casting and jigging. It would be nice to have a longer jigging pole but space limitations at home don't allow it. I like the yellow color of the rod. With three of them off the stern of the boat it's very easy to see those soft crappie strikes.
My only criticism is that top piece of cork is flared (zoom in on photo). This adds about 1/4" to my forward grip and occassionally causes the bail to touch my knuckles during retrieve. I meant to sand off the flare this winter but haven't gotten around to it. After I do, it will be close to perfect.
