I have a 22ft bay boat that I did not want to add a swim platform to. However I did need something to help get in and out of the boat so a decided to try a hook ladder. I was very happy with the quality of this ladder and it arrived ahead of schedule from Overton's. It's stable, light weight and easy to use. The only down side is it may be tough to store on smaller boats.

We are very much beginners in boating recreation. Not only was the Overton's online catalog very easy to navigate, the ladder itself was "novice" proof. It arrived exactly as the picture showed and was constructed and put to use within five minutes!

We have an aluminum bass boat / recreational. with young kids and my wife, sure makes it alot easier to bet back into the boat. Wish it came with longer stand-off pegs so it would accomadate the sloped gunwalls of my boat. I am glad we got it.

Are the standoffs adjustable up and down the ladder or just in and out? This is going on a 13' Boston Whaler with approx. 16" from hook to the bottom of the boat.

Depends on the draft of your boat. If you anchor in over 3' of water, the extra rung will come in handy. Takes less effort to pull oneself up.

There is no additional hardware to mount it as this is a temporary use ladder, not a permanent mount. These can be used on pontoons

No. It just hands over the side and hooks on the gunwale. You will always want store the ladder when boat is under power.

                    • A:

The standoffs are about 3 inches and hold the ladder at perfect distance away from my boat (19 ft. bowrider.) I don't feel that the ladder "hugs" the boat at all. There is enough room to get your feet on the rungs.
