Comments about Dockmate Wide Step Flip-Up Dock Ladder, 5-Step:
we mounted it on a floating swim dock and the best parts about it is that its safe, easier to climb on because wide steps don't hurt your feet, its light so the kids can raise and lower it to help and it stays clean.

Comments about Dockmate Wide Step Flip-Up Dock Ladder, 5-Step:
This is a great, sturdy ladder, but beware upon installation. The instructions say to let the handle part slip into the ladder part. The instructions DO NOT say to be very careful to not let the handle part slip past the bolt holes. Mine slipped all the way down, and it was nearly impossible to pull the handles back out to the proper alignment. I was only able to accomplish this by turning the handle part back and forth while pulling, which resulted in permanent marring scratches. In addition, the ladder is 20" wide, which places the brackets at 22," so I could only attach to one dock joist and had to rig a support for the other side. That required taking dock boards off and a couple hours of work.

Comments about Dockmate Wide Step Flip-Up Dock Ladder, 5-Step:
The ladder is beautifully constructed for the most part with great welds, no sharp edges, very nicely finished. Steps are great, looks good but....the instruction sheet on the other hand is a total waste. Very poorly done, very unclear instructions, and no mention of the bolt, washer sequence at all. This part of the assembly is very important on the flip up ladder and there was absolutely no mention of the order. Also, the holes were improperly drilled and there was no way it could be assembled the way it was drilled. My husband had to drill two additional holes in order to make it work. VERY frustrating!!! I would probably recommend this ladder to a friend with reservations because it is well constructed if you don't mind drilling holes. *If the Dockmate does not want to make the effort to provide a decent assembly schematic they could at least get someone to make a quick how to video clip showing the assembly process.
