These lights are super bright. My 140 foot dock looks like a runway at night. These lights light the edges of the dock but not the dock itself if that makes any sense. My previous lights were mounted up off the dock a bit an lit the dock itself even though they were very dim compared to these. These lights put very little light on the dock itself but outlines it great. Had a couple show some sighs of discoloration at the led light itself but Overton's replaced them immediately. Great product and great people to deal with

I have purchased and returned about 8 of these lights over the past 2 x years. Yes, they have a 1 year warranty so the replacement was free, but the time, aggravation, and shipping cost to send them back to Overton's is on the customer. Just exchanged two more last week and one of the "new" ones was defective right out of the box.

We attached these to our swim raft so boats wouldn't run into it after dark. Light up perfectly and easy to spot from a distance. Suggested for anything stationery that you need to locate in the dark or for a small craft that is not equipped with lights.

Are they really "Waterproof" or just water resistant? Do they standup to heavy downpours? Are they submersibles?

These lights are waterproof. Heave rain is not a problem. They are NOT submersible for any extended period of time.

Thanks for your question. I just installed several of these lights and they all stay fully lighted throughout the night (9 pm to 5:30 am). They all appear to be at full brightness in the early AM so I think they would last many hours more if need be as the days get shorter.

They are also brighter than I expected. The picture in the link below most accurately represents the brightness that I experience with mine.

When you receive yours they will probably have a small magnet taped to the back. This magnet keeps the light turned off prior to it being used so it does not try to cycle on and off. This magnet should be removed when you receive the light. The solar panel also has a clear film over it to protect it and that should be removed as well. Hope this helps and please let us know if you have additional questions.

I had the same question when I received my lights. The metal is an extremely high powered magnet and is taped to the back of the light. It is apparently closing whatever type of switch that actuates the dusk to dawn feature. If the magnet is left on the back of the light, it will not turn on at night. There should be an instruction sheet packaged with these lights for that reason.

This is a magnet. You should disengage it from the light to activate the battery.

If you are mounting it on wood I would use a 1" #10 screws like item 34391. Item 34391 comes in a bag of 100 so you can use them to mount many lights, dock bumpers or various other products.

                A:

It is recommended that if you do remove them from the dock or deck to store them for winter, that they remain in an area that can still charge the batteries and go through the normal cycles. These lights will work best if they conintue to go through normal charge and discharge cycles so the batteries don't lose functionality.

What is the minimum distance used between lights to negate interference from an adjoining solar or incandescent light bulb? I would think that if the unit was too close to another it could force the weaker one to turn off its light & proceed to charge status.

It is recommended to space solar lights 6ft or more apart to prevent them from interfering with one another.
