I bought these in July, 2009 and loved them after adapting using 2x8 boards to extend them away from the dock (see previous review). I took them off the dock for the winter and this summer, they developed terrible blotchy color fading - almost looks like someone stained the dock and spilled all over the top. But the blotchy spots are worse facing south. See attached photos. I contacted Customer Service today to see if they will replace product.

Comments about Dockmate Dock Fender:
These are great! Dock builder recommended these and I'm so glad I ordered. Beats having those inflateable ones hanging over the sides of the boat with rope. Highly recommend black to avoid the mildew stain. Shipping was quick, and straight to builders door. I am SO pleased with all my Overtons products ordered. Thank you!

Comments about Dockmate Dock Fender:
I am updating a previous negative post where I was unhappy that two corner bumpers would not hold air. The company contacted me and corrected the problem and provided me with new bumpers. There customer service turned out to be very good.

A:
I bought the kit and have about 6" between each at the entrance to my boathouse and a bit more the further you go in. I guess it depends on where you have them.Answered on 7/18/2012 by Lake Girl from Lake Hopatcong, NJ

Q:
First time boat owner. How many are recommended for a 22' boat (shared slip on lake). What else would you recommend to keep the boat safe against the dock?Asked on 4/9/2010 by sweenkm from lake ariel, pa2 answers
A:
I would space them about 4 to 6 feet apart. I would also use the bumper profiles, like item 71946, in between these fenders so you will have complete protection across the edge of the dock. This will provide additional protection when you are approaching the slip under power.Answered on 4/23/2010 by Michael from Overton'sVERIFIED BUYER

We have a 25' slip and used 2 on each side and 2 in front, also used 2 corner on front of slip. So for it works great.Answered on 4/26/2010 by Logan Martin River Rat from Pell City, Alabama

Q:
The two lower holes are how far down from the top of the dock?
Would this work on a 2" x 8" which is really only 7.5" wide.Asked on 7/14/2009 by Randy from Lake James, NC1 answer

A:
My dock is 2 x 8. Just mounted 6 fenders on the sides and 2 corner fenders. I think the fenders need another set of holes for use on 2x8s. Haven't lost one yet. Gave some pretty hard pulls on the fenders.Answered on 8/16/2009 by Terry from Ely,IA
Q:
Are the two screws on the top of the dock adequate to secure this bumper? My dock does not have the depth to accomodate the two screws on the side.Asked on 7/8/2009 by Mark from Greenville, NC1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It is recommended to secure it at all 4 locations, but you can still mount it with just the top 2. It will certainly be a better fender if all 4 locations are screwed in.Answered on 7/10/2009 by Ryan from Overtons
Q:
Can this be mounted flush to a post rather than to the edge of the dock as pictured?Asked on 6/29/2009 by Anonymous1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This particular fender would not be able to mount flush because of the lip that secures it to the dock. You may be interested in our straight/corner dock cushion (item 73358) as an alternative option.Answered on 7/1/2009 by Ryan from Overtons
Q:
how far away from the dock does the bumper extend?Asked on 6/22/2009 by Anonymous1 answer
