Comments about Idea Development Co Davis Rudder Position Indicator:
Expect to have to recenter this device. Mounting with velcro will allow you to do this. This or similar device is a must for any vessel that you cannot see the outboard/outdrive/rudder. Even if it is not entirely accurate it assists greatly in your awareness of the action of your vessel at the start of moving, especially when backing up. I would be lost without this on my pontoon. Friends see it and how I use it and purchase one themselves.

Comments about Idea Development Co Davis Rudder Position Indicator:
The product worked well at first, especially if kept out of intense sun and rough waters. However, I often found that I had to remove the steering wheel hub cap to realign the markers. Consequently, both of the Davis Rudder Indicators came apart and were rendered useless.

Comments about Idea Development Co Davis Rudder Position Indicator:
The manufacturer cut too many corners for this item to work reliable. Indicator jumps rudder position by 90, 180, 270 degrees, depending upon the sea state. Not made for the real world ( a nice statement for junk).
Comments about Idea Development Co Davis Rudder Position Indicator:
make sure you leave it removable, resettable because jolts from trailering will alter the "zero" point.

Comments about Idea Development Co Davis Rudder Position Indicator:
This is a wonderful idea but I think I got a bad one. The indicated position of the rudder changes somehow and can be as much as 2 or 3 revelotions of the wheel off. I have to remove the center of the steering wheel and unwind the inicator to get it back in sync with the actual rudder position. I think I will buy another to see if the problem is just with the one that I got. [...]
