Comments about Covermate Imperial Pro Deck Boat Cover, 265" max. length:

I bought this Imperial cover in blue to cover a Splendor Platinum 240 with swim platform. It fits pretty well and I'm pretty picky. From a fit perspective, I would buy it again.

The "challenges". The color came off on the gel coat and was difficult to remove from the gel coat and upholstery. I contacted Carver Industries and they were great about replacing the cover with a gray cover. No color transfer with the gray cover since it was the natural color of the material used.

I'm now at five years on this cover. My boat is stored under a carport so minimal sun and no weather exposure. When I washed the cover in a large, commercial washer, the weatherproofing came out of the cover. The cover is notably lighter (physical weight) and from the inside, I can see clearly through the cover (think panty hose like). It works to keep the bugs and birds out but if the boat was outside, the dirt and precipitation would come right in.

I don't think this polyester cover breathes as well as it should since it molded on the inside over the winter. I'm in Atlanta, GA so it's not very cold here. I'm careful to dry the boat in the sun for several days before storing it for the winter. That being said, the moisture trapped inside to cause the mold had to come from the air not being able to transfer through the cover easily.

The cover has a slight tear in the front so I'm likely to replace it next season. I'm moving back to the cheaper cotton cover. From a longevity perspective, I get similar longevity results from the cotton cover (i.e. 5-6 years). However, the cotton covers cost less, breathe well and launder better.

Net, I wouldn't recommend an Imperial cover.
