The boat is stored for the winter on a lift. The cover kept it clean and free of any mildew and dirt. The breather vents are a good addition. After two winters the cover tore near the rear attachments, it probably would benifit from some reinforcement at the stress points. I would suggest that the cover include a repair kit so that rips could be repaired when small. The cover was replaced under warranty. The replacement cover seems abit larger than the first cover and fits the 21 ft boat better. The cover is very functional at a reasonable cost.

Last year I bought a custom made cover and some lowlife stole it off my boat while on the mooring! This time I went with a lower quality semi-custom and the first one tore near the windshield. The second one is holding up better but needs a support system to keep rain water from pooling. I just bought a support system so it should be fine. You get what you pay for.

Comments about Covermate 150 Mooring and Storage Cover for 20'-22' V-Hull Boats:
Easy to use, attractive, ample coverage for our Ski Sanger. Light weight but adequate, heavier weight available for more $$.
When used with the pole cover support, needs more tie-downs in order to keep the cover tented and taut for reducing the pooling areas.

Comments about Covermate 150 Mooring and Storage Cover for 20'-22' V-Hull Boats:
Craftmanship is lacking, the straps that are sticked on the canvas are not attached correctly. Storage cover is OK but not long lasting in weather.

A:
Jim - I would suggest buying the next size up. My boat is a 19.5' Stingray open bow, so I am between cover sizes too. I bought the 20-22' and am glad I did. Since you aren't buying a custom fitting cover, I would say having the extra room is better. It ensures you get enough length. However, I did not buy the frame they sell that helps shape the cover for preventing pooling of water and now I wish I had. I was able to use my canvas cover pole tents, but it was tough. Not going to do those gymnastics again next year, will buy the frame. Good luck.Answered on 12/13/2011 by BabyRay from Lake Gaston, North Carolina
Q:
I have a 1979 Cobalt closed deck boat with an I/O and a swim platform. It has a little taller bow rail. What cover would be the best? And how is the durability of these covers? Are they good for only one season?Asked on 8/30/2010 by Brian from Salt Lake1 answer

A:
We bought this cover for our Bayliner 1952 ( A 19 foot cuddy cabin) and it is perfect. It is generously sized so it fit over the bow rails and over the swim platform and motor. It is very well constructed and has a very nice snap on strap system to tie it to the trailer. There are even vents in the stern for air circulation. It has been on the boat through several horrendous storms and everything stayed snug and dry. It is one of the nicest covers that we have owned and for the price it would be hard to do better. I don't know how long it will last but it looks sturdy. I expect to get several years out of it, maybe longer, and for the price that is pretty good.Answered on 6/11/2011 by Sue from Rock Hill, SC
Q:
How does this cover stay securely on the boat while the boat is in the water? We are concerned that if there is a storm or stiff winds they cover may come off. Please advise. Do you need to buy snaps in order to secure this cover?Asked on 7/8/2010 by Valerie from Auburn, NH1 answer

it comes with straps and yes, in wind, you will need to secure with straps....we tie while in hoist to the posts of hoist.Answered on 6/13/2011 by mike from white lake michigan
