This is great marine radio to have with you for instant and easy use. I've found it the most convenient means of talking to marinas for berthing. It's light yet rugged and inexpensive enought to risk having with you on small sailing dinghies where a loss would be sad but hardly traggic. The displays are bright and easy to read. Guests have no trouble figuring it out.

Comments about Cobra MR HH125 Handheld VHF Radio:
I fish in the Gulf of Mexico on a 24' center console with a fixed mounted VHF and this light weight, waterproof unit is a wonderful backup.
Comes in handy if one of the crew runs up to the bait shop and has a question.

Comments about Cobra MR HH125 Handheld VHF Radio:
Got this as a backup for the mounted VHF radio in the boat. Lets face it if a catastrophic event happens & you end up in the water, it is going to be difficult to get to your mounted VHF radio. This one is rugged and water proof. Hands down it is a great radio. The range is a little short, but it is a handheld radio, so not a con.

Comments about Cobra MR HH125 Handheld VHF Radio:
I bought this radio for my grandson to use hunting this winter. He told me that it works really well and that it was very easy to use. The range was good and because it was waterproof, it would be good to carry into the swamp.

Q:
What is the max effective mile range for this VHF handheld???Asked on 5/17/2012 by Anonymous0 answers
Q:
im looking for a handheld vhf so my wife can reach me when she is home and im in the boat always less than 4 miles from our home. will this radio serve this function? if not what setup would you reccomend. cell phones are out of the question. thanks, chesapeak bay commercial waterman.Asked on 5/14/2012 by mo from seaford,virginia1 answer
A:
I WOULD RECOMMEND A HANDHELD THAT HAS 5 WATTS. THIS RADIO IS 1 TO 3 WATTS. 4 MILES IS QUITE A DISTANCE FOR A HAND HELD. I WOULD RECOMMEND A FIXED MOUNT VHF. WITH THE RIGHT ANTENNA 4 MILES IS A PIECE OF CAKE.Answered on 12/4/2012 by BUCKSHOT from FREDERICKSBURG, VA
Q:
IS THERE A AC CHARGER FOR THIS RADIO COBRA MR HH125 Handheld VHF RadioAsked on 4/4/2011 by ROBERTO from MIAMI3 answers
A:
I have this radio, and what the person said above me was a description of the *DC* charger, that the radio does come with. This radio does not come with an AC charger, but it is possible to get an adapter for the charger it comes with.Answered on 7/6/2012 by Matthew from Lake ChamplainA:
No there is not an AC charger, just the cigarette lighter chager.Answered on 6/23/2011 by johnson85 from OhioVERIFIED BUYER
A:
Yes, there is a power cord to connect the charge socket on the radio to an auto 12 volt type socket. This will charge the five re-chareable AAA batteries supplied in the radio.Answered on 11/18/2011 by John from Seattle, WA
