        Hooked the thing up and cranked up the heat. I know it is probably not recommended, but we added couple sticks to give it a REAL fire smell. ++++++

          I purchased this unit for when either wood or a fire pit was not available. I found I also used it under a RV awning when it was raining, when we were tired and just wanted to sit by a fire for a short time and when it was windy and cool and we wanted the heat from the firepit. It is quick and easy to set up and dismantle. It has a variable flame. I haven't tried cooking over it yet but hope to soon.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
