Purchased this unit for our kids for Christmas. Chose it because of its high ratings for dependability. Wanted something that would stand up to years of use and is not broken beyond repair due to accidents in normal course of use. We like the power and versitility of the unit as it is something that they (or we) can add too. Wanted something able to serve those who do like to cook in the rustic camp setting, but could also be used at home for cookouts and/or canning. Liked the removable leg to provide table top option. Adjustable legs appear designed to last. Unit is pretty heavy, so wouldn't want to have to pack it too far from the vehicle. Thanks Camp Chef

Comments about Camp Chef® Explorer 2-Burner Outdoor Stove:
Terrific stove. I have one packed for camping and another on the counter in my music studio for coffee, tea, lunch, etc.
Going to pick up another for the back porch, next to the gas grill. This is a fine outdoor cooking stove. And you can hose it down afterwards. This is particularly convenient because young Boy Scouts are sloppy cooks. :)
Canning fruit and making applesauce outdoors is so convenient because you can be messy, not worry about slopping boiling water on the stove or apple juices getting on the floor by the press that is clamped to the counter top, etc. and the cleanup is just a hose away. Plus it's easier handle larger cook pots when they are lower than the normal stove height.

Comments about Camp Chef® Explorer 2-Burner Outdoor Stove:
I am an avid participant in cooking competitions, particularly chili and BBQ and this stove has made a huge difference in the way we do things. For one, you have two sturdy burners that can hold large quantities in very large pots. Secondly, it has a very good system for heat control, unlike trying to use a turkey fryer burner like some of our competitors. Third, the option of having detachable legs allows us to either sit the unit on a table or use the legs when the table isn't available. Even with the legs, this stove does not wobble or sway. I feel completely confident that we would never lose product due to a collapse or failure. I recommend getting the carrying case that's also available through Camp Chef. The legs are stored neatly with the stove and the handle makes it quite easy to pack around. The unit may be heavier than backpackers would need, but it's sturdyness is what makes this product work so well for me. Much better than I anticipated. Good Job Camp Chef!!

I am wanting to use this to pressure can and I will be using a 16 quart presto pressure cooker, will this stove hold the weight? It will be used extensively.Asked on 7/28/2009 by chuck from indiana1 answer
A:
yes, I wouldn't hesitate to use a 16 qt pressure cooker.. I used a "turkey fryer pot" on one burner with 64 pounds of chili in it for hours on end and another 24 qt pot full of water on the other burner.Answered on 10/28/2009 by doc from BEAUFORT, N.C.
Q:
Is there a weight limit on things cooked on it? I make my own beer and would be boiling 7 to 10 gallons of beer at one time? will this stove be sturdy enough to hold that kind of weight?Asked on 5/16/2009 by jim from st cloud mn2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The manufacturer does not list a weight limit. However, it only weighs 40 lbs. and I think a single burner would fit your needs better.Answered on 5/19/2009 by Paul from Gander TechA:
I was looking for the same thing and it would work however it would take a long time to reach and maintain a boil with the 30,000 BTU burner. I bought one for camping (and absolutely love it) - and then went to my local brew store and purchased a 150,000 BTU single burner for less than half the price. Single burner 150,000 BTU cut my brew time in half and was well worth the $55.Answered on 1/3/2010 by mopargoof from Canton, Ohio

Unfortunately we do not have them online yet, hopefully we will be stocking them in the very near future. We do offer them in our retail stores, however each store has access to their own inventory. If we didn't have it in the store, contacting Camp Chef directly might be the only to get them right now.Answered on 12/11/2008 by Spencer from Gander Mountain
