The 24" Smoke Vault by Camp Chef can be used for smoking ribs, fish, and turkeys, as well as baking pies and breads. The unit is powered by a convenient snap ignition along with a finesse-style propane gas valve that translates into 20,000 BTUs of usable heat. The overlapping stainless-steel door keeps more smoke and heat inside. The removable stainless-steel water tray helps keep moisture in the meat while you cook. A cast-iron chip tray diverts heat into the circulation pattern necessary for successful smoking or cooking. Includes three cooking grids. 29.5"H x 24"W x 15"D cooking area. I have had this unit for 4yrs and works great.
I have smoked wild turkeys to homemade sausage and
the smoke flavor is excellent. When I smoke Texas Brisket, when slicing the brisket you can see the smoke infused in to the meat at the desired thickness.

I smoke food every week and this was fine for about a year then started having problems. Ignitor went bad chip tray warped. Not very sturdy. Lots of room and smokes food very well. Iam buying a new smoker this week of another brand after only 2 years.

Service and delivery comments:
The delivery to my boyfriends house for Christmas was fast, however when the box was opened on Christmas, the door was dented. I contacted Gander by email regarding options and did not receive an email or a call back.

I purchased the Smoke Vault 24" online from Gander. When assembling, noticed a broken burner part. According to the instructions, I contacted the manufacturer, not Gander Mtn. This instruction is posted on orange paper, attached to the product manual.
Camp Chef sent the wrong replacement part, second effoert by Camp Chef sent a part which was incomplete in construction.
I contacted Gander Mt. for an exchange. Gander now stating past 30 days of purchase. Of course it is -- I have been working with Camp Chef as directed.
Gander wants the smoker shipped back to them in a box that has long-since gone to recycling. I am told that I have to locate a box, disassemble the smoker, pack it and ship it back to Gander for an exchange.
Spoke at length with a Gander customer sales rep who could not see that the best way for me to ship back the defective smoker is to send me a new smoker, and I will use the shipping box, then at hand, to return the defective unit.
I possibly could return the unit to a local store, if they will take it without a box, and recieve a refund. Then I would order a new unit, and as a FAVOR, the rep would match the price I paid previously.
This my experience with Gander Mtn. and Camp Chef.

This smoker worked great for the first year but after that things went downhill fast. Everything started falling apart. So it is great for the first year but after that its time to get rid of it.
