I purchased this knife a few years ago and have gutted and cleaned many deer and hogs with it, only to of had to sharpen it maybe twice; due to hacking through leg and pelvic bones on the animals. One hunting trip, my knife was used to gut, skin and quarter 10 deer and 12 hogs without sharpening it one time. We had a saw for the legs and pelvic bones at that time. This knife amazed me how easily and smoothly it would slice through the sternum (breast bone) each and every time without having to use a mallet or sawing techniques, just simple continuous pressure. I am definitly getting myself another one and one in the Blaze Orange Color, just to have both. Great and outstanding job by Buck, for this amazing item!! Keep it up!!

Great knife
I really like this knife. It has a great edge, and holds it, the gut hook works well. And the ergonomic design of the handle works well for me.

I'm not very impressed with the sheath. Yes, it comes in cool camo. Yes, I'm sure it's durable. However, the location of the belt loop gives it a very undesirable hip position for me. Also there is no ease of draw. It has a very unatural carry and draw for me. While I like the knife, I will be making my own leather sheath for it very soon.

Just got this knife today, I put the knife in its sheath and took it out to see how easy it was. Upon taking it out I looked away for a second and sliced my finger. Needless to say this knife is SHARP! the handle is really nice too, got this knife for field dressing and I can't wait to use it.

Q:
On the buck website this knife has a "matching camo heavy duty nylon sheath". I noticed that the sheath pictured with this knife on ya'll's website is black. Which one does it come with if ordered from gandermountain.com?Asked on 1/16/2010 by Daniel from Stuart, VA0 answers
