im a commercial fisherman in Va and everybody i know in this industry uses this product including myself. thy way we do our boats is do a lite sanding above the waterline and if your old paint hull fiberglass ect.. is in good shape we paint right over it and i dont know anyone thats had a problem with adheshion cracking peeling ect.. but if you have the funds and the hull has been sanded down to fiberglass i would put on the primer. contact the company and talk to them. this method may not be what they reccomend but i have had zero problems painting over the old coat on my boat just make sure you use the 333 thinner its a must. hope this gets you going in the right direction. good luck. seafordboy. p.s. check out the website the hull truth and go to the boating forum you can get info from a-z
