Q:I noticed on your web site that the extension on the strap is 14" to 43"....On all the other sites I have looked at for this product they do not list a minimum extension (14") Why do I need it that long? It looks like 8" would work.Asked on 9/4/2014 by harry from indiana pa
The BoatBuckle G2 will retract down to 7". The 7" is from the screw hole underneath the ratchet to the inside of the hook.

Q:do you know how the tie-down attaches/mounts to the trailer?Asked on 5/26/2009 by David from TN
A:David, the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Tie-Down has a hole on the back side and comes with a nut, bolt and washer. You permanently mount the tie-down with the hardware to a hole or an eye on your trailer. If you have any other questions, you can e-mail us through our website at www.boatbuckle.com.

A:It bolts to the trailer directly under the wench hook on your boat. My trailer already had a spot for such a thing so I did not have to drill any holes. If you trailer does not have a hole pre-drilled, you'll need to drill one. The bolt that comes with the tie down is plenty long to go thru trailer tubing.Answered on 8/22/2009 by O Seay D from Kansas City, MO
A:Luckily my trailer had an angled support with a hole in it I could attach this to. If it had not been for that they provide you a bolt long enough to fit through a 4" trailer but they expect you to drill through both sides of the trailer to put the bolt through which is not impossible but will require a nice sharp bit and some patience.Answered on 8/28/2009 by SportsPhotog from Chandler, AZ
