I had another brand that overheated during a hard start of my 17ft boat. It simply could not carry the load. The Blue Sea carries a higher amp rating and has shown no signs oh overheating. I plan on buying another soon to install in my fifth wheel trailer when we install a second battery during hunting season.

Put into my boat with two batteries so I don't kill the starting battery with my stereo. It is a good bask switch. Would be a little more useful with a little more options on mounting it. Works well. Just a basic switch that is reliable.

Comments about Blue Sea Systems e-Series 9001e Selector 4-Position Battery Switch:
Great addition to the boat. I put it on my pontoon boat and it easily lets me use one battery for running the boat, the other for the stereo, and with a click of the switch to the 1 & 2 postition, I can charge both batteries at the same time. I would definitely recommend this to a friend or anyone. Excellent value for what it allows you to do.

Comments about Blue Sea Systems e-Series 9001e Selector 4-Position Battery Switch:
I have quite a bit of high end sound equipment on my boat and use two batteries to run it. Works great, when one battery runs dead, I switch to battery two and never miss a beat. The only con I have is the way the bottom is made, little fingers could get inside where the wires are.

A:
It would be best to direct the ground leads directly to the frame (or other grounding area) so you are not having to run electricity through batterry "A" while using only baterry "B".Answered on 6/10/2011 by jim from oregon
Q:
I whant to kill all power between the battery and the boat> is this what i need for my 4.3L merc crusier? do i need anything else like cable to hook between tne battery and this switchAsked on 7/5/2010 by bob from badin lake nc1 answer
A:
It would depend on your boat's electrical system. Typically you would have some items on a "hot" battery connection, i.e. bilge pump. These would still have power available even with the switch in the off position.Answered on 2/7/2011 by erimol from memphis, tn
Q:
Does this piece include mounting hardware? Does it use a positive, negative or connect both through the switch? Do I need extra battery cables (red/black)?Asked on 5/12/2010 by Yamaha SX230 from Pickerington, OH1 answer

A:
no mounting hardware is included but I had no trouble using deck screws to mount it inside my engine compartment. The switch only connects your positive wires. You will need 3 positive wire / cables. All with eye hole loops on at least 1 end. One cable goes from battery 1 to the switch , the next battery cable goes from battery 2 to the switch and the 3rd cable goes from the switch to where your positive battery cable now connects (for mine it is the starter). That's all there is to it. The switch DOES include 3 large 9/16" nuts and washers to connect your cables to the switch.Answered on 5/24/2010 by taxi Jim from Austin TX
Q:
if the battery switch is position 1 and 2 will it charge the batteries with one charger? (meaning will it back fed through the switch to add charge to each batterey from one charger.)Asked on 3/10/2010 by chip from bradford pa1 answer

Absolutetly. Its no different than running your boat with the switch on both batteries to charge them while using the boat.Answered on 6/30/2010 by cooter from green bay wi

Q:
Can I just hook up one battery for now and add another later?Asked on 2/15/2010 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
Yes. It will run when that battery or 1+2 is selected.Answered on 4/23/2010 by Wakevols from TN

Is there a way to disable the 1+2 position? Or a different switch that only has positions for Off, 1, 2?
