I look to have only the most essential items needed when I camp. This fire starter is far better than any other striker in my opinion. Sparks flew like the "4th of July", quickly igniting my tinder in 2-3 attempts. I broke a sweat using other striker devices, without success. This worked so well, it set my instructions on fire (which I no longer needed, as simple to use!)

I use this to start campfires, and the cook stove at scout camps. The kids are fascinated by it and want to learn to start fires without using matches. Great teaching tool for the lessons I give on what equipment to pack in an emergency survival kit.
