      I think a two pc design that clamped on the rail would be better than forcing a person to drill holes into a round rail. It definitely would be easiet to install, Less tools to haul down to the boat, use, etc.

      I would recommend this to a friend, but this could be made much better, and probably just as cheaply. I would have a wider base, and a matching 'clamp half' and would use 4 self tapping screws in the corners, to lock it together and to have it squeeze the rail.

              The sales rep assumed I needed top fittings with curved bottom when I needed flat-bottomed fittings. I didn't realized there were more than 1 type available. I still used them and they will suffice until I buy replacements.
