    I bought this because i wanted something smaller for my 4 month old lab and this was perfect. I really didn't think that the hard head would help anything, but the first time she picked it up it was by the head. Two steps later, she dropped it and picked it up by the body. I was pleasantly surprised. Now she only picks it up by the body. So far it has withstood her teeth, but we only use it for retrieving practice, not playtime. It's gone through a couple hundred retrieves and shows a little paint chipping on the body, but no structural damage. Overall, a good purchase.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
