Comments about Arrowhead Inboard Starter For GM Engines:
To start with I want to stress that Overtons took good care of me and refunded me my money including shipping cost to send it back. This poor review should be taken to reflect the product AND NOT OVERTONS. Last year my starter went and being thrifty (cheap) I bought a unit elsewhere for a lot less. I thought this was a great deal and it performed well, Used the boat about 10 times total last year. First time out this year we were stranded, the starter went!! The thrust washer broke and was chewed up by the flywheel. So this time I was convinced that I would not cheap out and would buy a quality replacement from Overtons. The picture shows a factory starter and said it was an OEM replacement granted I should have called but I figured It was going to be fine. You can imagine my anger when the unit arrived and it was IDENTICAL to the cheapo unit I bought last year.[*] sticker and all! About 1/2 the weight of the factory unit and none of the parts are interchangeble. I called Overtons right away and explained how annoyed I was at the low quality of the unit and as I said they were great and arranged for a return and refund. Again some of this is my fault I realize but at the same time a picture is a picture and the unit I received compared to the picture was completely different. Do yourself a favor, buy a Sierra as this will be a DIRECT replacement, you won't be sorry!
