Comments about Airhead EZ Ski 100 Trainer:

I bought this for my 5 yr old Granddaughter , she had experienced being on a big tube with her father before. She wanted to try to ski , but felt the real skis were to much to start out with . We practiced on the lawn , sitting and standing holding the rope. I took her out to the calmest part of the lake with no boat traffic, she sat on the EZ ski for a few minutes ,she drifted back ( motor off ) I used a 35 ft rope . I went 5-8 miles an hour , the wake was high. I felt 10-12 was better , she learned all the hand signals before going out, fast , slow , stop. her parents were nervous, but she was having a blast , she smiled the whole way , she rode for about 20 minutes .
The EZ Trainer itself is very sturdy , more than I expected. I did read about it in the add, but it was much more quality than advertised I felt.
She never fell off the ski. Falling off being by yourself for a few moments will be the next challenge for her, and Me.
Her father then wake-boarded with her the next time , I used a different longer rope , she was so excited. This will be forever a family memory , and Of course we have it all on video.
          Sincerely Bepa

Comments about Airhead EZ Ski 100 Trainer:

Bought this for my 3 year old girl and 1.5 year old boy. First we just pulled them around in shallow water without the boat for about 20 mintues so they got a feel for it. Its very stable. We asked them if they wanted to try behind the boat and they were thrilled. Easy to load from the swim step and daddy held the rope. We only let out about 6 feet of rope and cruised with them at 4.5mph. Perfect introduction to watersports.

We hope to use every weekend and slowly increase distance back and speed.

One possible improvement would be a way to increment the line length with the handle provided. We will probably tie some loops in the line so we can do that while they get more comfortable.

Price is high, but the look on my kids faces was worth it. Looking forward to using it again next weekend.

Product is constructed well and seems durable.

I like the wood skis so the kids can lean and the trainer reacts to their input and steers.

I sent the airhead as a late birthday gift. My nephew was visiting and had tried another brand of ski trainer during his visit. I went on-line, read the reviews and the Airhead seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I even received a Thank You card... no small feat ... from an eight year old. Yes... it was that awesome!

Comments about Airhead EZ Ski 100 Trainer:

Bought this ski trainer for my grandkids (ages 6 and 4) to start getting used to the feel of waterskiing. We had previously tried to get them on starter skis with the connecting bar, but it was too scary for them and they wouldn't even consider it. When they saw the EZ Ski Trainer, they were excited to give it a go. My 4-year-old grandson, and his 5-year-old cousin, quickly advanced to standing and "skiing" with no fear, even giving the thumbs up to go faster. The six-year-old, who is quite a bit more cautious, did take a ride, and although he never was brave enough to stand, it was a good introduction for him to waterskiing.
Several things about this trainer that make it a great tool for introducing kids to waterskiing: The child doesn't have to get in the water to start; they can sit on it until they are comfortable enough to move into a standing position; the bottom is very stable with built in toe holds for their feet, giving it that "waterski" feel; and the handle is adjustable to their height. And, of course, the tow rope is held by a person in the boat instead of attached to the boat, making it much safer should the child fall off.
Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the water, because once your kid is on this thing, he/she will NOT want to quit!

Added note: After using this item for the summer, with several different children of varying ages, I have this suggestion: Before taking your child out for their first ride, have them practice getting on and off the EZ Trainer by themselves in the water. Should they fall off during their ride, which did happen a couple times, the kids who had practiced getting back on by themselves were much less panicked when they got dumped in the water.
One more piece of advice: If you have to make a turn while pulling your child, make sure it's a very wide gentle turn. Every time we had a child fall off the EZ Trainer, it was on a turn. We finally had them sit down while cornering for greater stability. We boat on a small lake, so having to make multiple loops is a necessity.
