Not sure if it was worth the [$]. The plastic wingnuts stripped upon 1st tightening. I will be replacing them with straight pins after I drill holes through the alum tubing in the 2 spots that I would like the top to sit at, in both the deployed position, and also trailering position. Still a better option than the alternative (fixed support poles), but definitely felt this could've been a better product for the money, and would expect to perform NO modifications or hassles- especially for the price.

Not sure if it was a design defect or not, but the ends could NOT be attached to the bimini top frame without completely taking the frame apart (which was impossible as the frame comes riveted right from the factory). Needless to say I sent them back and bought the 48" poles that didn't need to be cut for my application (and saved $20 in the process).

Comments about Taylor Made Adjustable Bimini Top Support Poles:

I have a C-Dory 16 Cruiser. Before I purchased this product the Bimini top, when down, was behind the engine requiring it to be put up before launching and leaving it up during recovery. This made entering or exiting the boat difficult due the forward straps. It also makes the boat look better when the top is down. It has really added a big plus to our boating.

Do these attach with some kind of quick release
Pin to the bimini? I ask this because I would want the top laying
completely down when I travel ,because I use a boat

Yes, they are, you can order them online. They came in really fast. Don't, don't order a top from them though. Going on day 20 and no Bimini Top, only excuses why it's not here and no word from the manufacturer. Only order parts that Overtons have in their warehouse, then you'll get it on time.

                A:

You would not be able to use this support pole with a pontoon bimini top because pontoon bimini tops have square frames and this is made for round frames that are usually used on runabout boats. You should consider one of the following items for pontoon bimini tops:
74985, 76724, or 73324. Those items are sold individually.

                A:

You can use these anytime whether the boat is going fast or slow, but what you need to worry about is if the bimini top is open you should be driving under 18mph. If the bimini top is closed then it is fine to drive however fast you want. Just be careful if the bimini top is open because you do run a risk of it taking on Mary Poppins abilities and flying off of your boat.
