asics The 19th version of the ASICS GEL-Kayano Running Shoe takes a "stop at never" approach by improving upon its award-winning ride, comfort, and fit. ASICS' flagship Structured Cushioning model drops over a half ounce in weight, thanks to top-of-the-line features and technologies. The Biomorphic Fit upper features strategically placed seamless overlay construction for incredible stretch and reduced buckling and irritation. The Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.) employs linked components to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe-off. The Heel Clutching System is an exoskeletal heel counter which provides better support and creates an improved heel-fitting environment. The Dynamic DuoMax system enhances stability and support while reducing weight and increasing platform comfort. The Guidance Line vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency, while the Guidance Trusstic System adds even greater support. The Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning Systems attenuate shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allow movement on multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. The lightweight Solyte midsole further enhances cushioning and durability. P.H.F. (Personalized Heel Fit) technology adds two layers of memory foam at the collar and molds to the athlete's heel, creating a personalized fit. The ComforDry Sockliner provides cushioning performance and anti-odor properties for a cooler, drier, healthier environment. ASICS High-Abrasion Rubber (AHAR) is placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability. The DuraSponge blown rubber compound outsole enhances cushioning and durability in the forefoot. Independently placed Discrete Eyelets disburse lace tension, creating a customized fitting environment and enhanced upper comfort. Women's-specific Plus 3 technology adds 3mm of extra height to help relieve Achilles tension. Gender-Specific Cushioning employs softer midsole materials in the forefoot to allow for greater midsole compression, improved shock attenuation, a softer road feel, and better performance.
