As a bigger runner, (6'1" 300lb+), who logs only city miles (about 3-4 times per week on blacktop, concrete and brick) I need a lot of cushioning. This shoe is perfect for me, not too stiff, not too heavy, it's right in the sweet spot. My feet feel great after a run. Having recently switched from Nikes, my only complaint would be the shoes Upper, because the midsole material is the best Ive ever run on and it seems to have a lot of life left in it. I've only logged a little more than a hundred miles but there's is a pretty substantial hole developing on the back collar of one shoe, behind where the heel sits. I tie my shoes 'runner style' and i always untie them before taking them off. The socks I run in are socks are 'dedicated' running socks, and i keep them in great condition, so I don't know why the hole developed. I can't feel it while running and it hasn't given me a blister, but it bothers me that it is there. Other than that the shoes still seem to have tremendous life left in the midsole. Previously I'd be looking forward to my next pair of shoes by now because as a bigger runner my shoes don't last anywhere close to the range they would last someone half my weight, but these still feel great to run on, and I'm actually interested in patching these up for a while (if I even have to), because let's face it, at $150, these shoes are not cheap.

I have owned and worn the Nimbus exclusively for running since the 7 series. Every year, Asics seemed to improve a little on an already great product. I am a 20 - 35 mile/week runner. I am an 8.5 who has always bought/worn a 9 US. This recipe has worked beautifully for years. Nimbus 13 was epic. 14 was great, but fit slightly different than I was accustomed to. 15 however has been a galactic disappointment. I have now gone through my 3rd pair of 15s. Yes, that's right. I have such brand loyalty to this shoe, that I have actually bought it three times in disbelief that my experience must be a fluke. I continue to believe in the past performance as opposed to the present. The lining of the 15 has been changed and the fit has altered slightly. The end result is that in each of the three pairs of shoes, the heels at the region of the Achilles tenon attachment has burned through the back of the shoe lining in both shoes with in less than a few hundred miles. This has NEVER happened in any of my other Asics. Of note, I am a hospital based physician and my work shoe has been the Kayano. Interestingly enough, the same liner has been used in this last year's rendition of the Kayano. You guessed it, the Kayanos broke down and wore a hole in the heel liner within weeks of purchase and wearing only around the hospital for walking. Also, as I have been through three pair, (three pair with holes, I also have a pair of lite show Nimbus 15 with considerably less use that have yet to break down), I have tried a size 9, a size 8.5, and I have even tried different lacing strategies to lock the heel in and still the same result. I'm pretty sure my feet have not really changed that much since the Nimbus 7. I never used to have this break down until this year when a new liner came out. Previously, the liners would bead up with the back of the socks and it would act like a stabilizing Velcro connection. Not any more. Same liner in the 3 pair of Nimbus and 1 pair of Kayano and all with holes in the same location. Come to your own conclusion. Asics please fix this. Think twice before you buy the 15. Also, I just saw the 16 in store...SAME LINER... Different and possibly more durable lining in the Cumulus..

I have run over 400 miles in my current pair, after almost running out of my GT-2000s at the same mileage. Can't wait to get the next pair.

Comments about ASICS Mens GEL-Nimbus 15 Running Shoe:

I have been running for about 8 years, the Nimbus is my main running shoe and I have found the Cumules as an excellent trainner option, there is a little difference between the Nimbus and Cumulus (Nimbus still better) but it has great comfort, great cushioning and excellent performance even in long runs...It is a good option for neutral runners.

Great Shoes

Comments about ASICS Mens GEL-Nimbus 15 Running Shoe:

These are great shoes. He even tried to sell me a 150 dollar pair at the asics store in old orchard. They even had a 200 dollar pair so there is no end. But surprisingly these felt even better than the 150 dollar pair. Will reccommend. I am a supinator and these are the best shoes I've owned to date.
