Comments about 3M Marine Adhesive/Sealant Fast Cure 5200, 3-oz. tube:

This is great stuff and it what you need to do the job right. It can be pretty permanent, so if you ever want to remove the fitting, you should probably use the 3M 4200 sealant/adhesive. These adhesive/sealants will allow you to do the job right above and below the water line, with no leaks, unlike the stuff you get from the big box store.

When I was a kid in Alaska we would repair all our aluminum boats with this stuff. We would also use it to repair the rubber on our winter boots; there is one spot that always cracks at about 50 degrees below zero. This stuff is the only thing we ever found that would stick to that rubber, stay bonded no matter what, and would last even at temperatures dipping below -60. Use it. Love it. Glue it.

      • Q:

I have a 16' aluminum starcraft, several rivets are leaking . I would need to take out the floor to be able to reseat them. I have heard that 5200 around the outside of the rivets could work. Is this a good fix ? Also I will be under the boat when it is trailered making the fix, Is it thick enough for overhead work. Any recomendations and directions on using it , Thanks David

The pads where your feet go on my SeaDoo have lifted. Will this product bond between the black rubber material and the fiberglass? I need something to glue this pad back down.
