Cut support bow to length, then drill bow and attach clips to bow with small stainless bolt and nut using holes provided in clips, and clips won't rotate around railing or be lost. Durable; I have had mine for years. Using this clip and wooden bows spanning the bowrider area I have kept rain water from puddling on the cover. Not only for small boats; I have a 25 ft. bowrider with 102" beam, and also use them on my 19' bowrider with 8' beam. On the 19' boat I use 3 wooden bows and the screw-mounted sockets to support the cover over the entire cockpit as well as the rail clips with wooden bows over the bowrider seating area.

These clips were too small to clip on to the moulding on my boat, therefore, the fiberglass bow is not entirely secured to the boat. It would be nice if they were a bit more flexible so I could push them on to the moulding. I would only recommend to a friend because this product is the easiest, non-permanent mounting solution for the wood and fiberglass support bows.

Comments about Sea-Dog Slat Rail Connectors, 2-pack:
They will not stay in place on the rails to support the fiberglass cover support.
I even spent an additional $10.00 on rubber no slip adhesive pads, cut the to fit and the connectors still slip and will not stay in place.
Seemed like a good idea as wind always knocks down a traditional post cover support.

Comments about Sea-Dog Slat Rail Connectors, 2-pack:
I cut my own bow from 1/8" X 1-1/2" flat aluminum stock and bolted the rail clips to each end after wrapping the ends with a couple of turns of gorilla tape. This made a great 84" mooring cover support for my Tahoe 195 deck boat.

Comments about Sea-Dog Slat Rail Connectors, 2-pack:
Wouldn't recommend this product, such a sloppy fit the bow fell out, the whole gizmo bow and
connectors practically worthless. Overall dissatisfied.

Comments about Sea-Dog Slat Rail Connectors, 2-pack:
This is not rocket science...these caps create a simple attachment to a boat rail, in our case to support a rib to support the boat cover. It would be great if the caps had a "male" piece to fill in the cap if the end caps are NOT being placed on a rail...

The slat rail connectors are a round connector the fits 7/8" rails. These will not work with square pontoon rails, and we are unable to get anything besides the 7/8" round connectors according to Sea Dog Line, the supplier.Answered on 10/28/2009 by OVERTON'S from TECHNICIANVERIFIED BUYER
