Strong design
I like the security the heavy-duty strap provides when towing and loading the boat on the trailer, but the clip is large and hard to get thru the front roller on my 26' trailer.

I bought this strap to replace something of identical rating and length for my 7 year-old trailer. It installed OK, but this thick strap is twice as thick as my old smooth black strap, so it took up the entire winch spool and then some, extending slightly beyond the spool when fully wound. No way to cut it. Unfortunately, the factory installed bolt holding the winch to the winch post on my trailer shredded this strap on the very first use because the wound strap was larger than the spool. Now I need to start over with either a thinner strap or a new winch. [$] down the drain. $30-$100 more before it is right.

Comments about Overton's 2" x 20' Heavy-Duty Winch Strap:
This strap is very strong, but due to the thickness of the strap it will overfill the spool of your winch. Even if you put it on while adding tension it is too big. i'm ok with the thickness, but who really needs such a long strap?

does not come with bolt but it should. i bought one at my local hardware store. just take old one with you even if you had to cut it out. they should be able to match it. make sure you get a grade 8 or stronger. tell them what it is for. good luck.Answered on 8/8/2009 by crafty from cincinnati, ohioVERIFIED BUYER

I picked one up at the local marine hardware store. it works well, but make sure you don't buy one that is too large and may interfere with the operation of the winch.Answered on 4/27/2010 by JimiZ from Warren Rhode Island

Is there an eye at the opposite side of the hook to attach to a winch ?..Also do you have different colors to choose from?Asked on 7/21/2009 by Miggyman from San jose1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This is the only color this particular winch strap comes in, but there are other ones that are black. Those are the two colors we have. This will have an eye to attach to a winch.Answered on 12/7/2009 by Justin from Overton's Technician
Q:
Is this really that much better than your standard winch straps or even your wire winch cables?Asked on 7/7/2009 by Rascal from Chapin, SC1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The tensile strength is rated at 10,000lbs which is double the strength of our standard winch straps, so I would have to say yes, it is that much better than the standard straps. Our strongest cable has a capacity of 5600lbs test.Answered on 7/10/2009 by Ryan from Overtons
Q:
How does this attach to the winch?Asked on 6/1/2009 by Larry from Holden, MA1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
There is a winch bolt at the end of your existing winch strap that is fed through the strap and allows the strap to be wound up.Answered on 6/4/2009 by Ryan from Overtons
