Comments about Toonmate Flexible Door Stop:
I'm actually using 2 per gate on my pontoon. These are to "lock" the gate open so they don't swing but I'm using an additional one to protect my new upholstery.

Comments about Toonmate Flexible Door Stop:
I recently bought a pontoon boat that is equipped
with 3 gates. Unfortunately, only the aft gate had a door stop leaving the other two swing open. I could only find these door stops at Overton's and quickly ordered two. They are the same as the one that came with the boat, match perfectly and were a breeze to install.

A:
It is just a door stop. It prevents the door from opening too wide and possible hitting against the pontoon fencing or another part of the boat.Answered on 6/5/2009 by Michael from OvertonsCUSTOMER CARE
A:
Correction: On lift hinge style gates, and depending on the clearance between the floor and the gate, the gate can go over this flexible door stop to hold the door open while at anchor. It also serve as just a door stop when you open the gate but do not lift it over the flexible stop.Answered on 6/5/2009 by Michael from OvertonsA:
On my Sylvan Pontoon these are used to hold the door closed. The door lifts up and over the stop to open. To close the door, you lift the door clear of the angled side of the stop and let it drop down against the flat vertical side. If you just let the door bang into the angled side it will not lift the door enough on my boat to allow it to close and "latch" by dropping down. Perhaps if the door was a mounted little higher it would slide up the hill and into latching position. But on my boat the door strikes too low to and the ramp is just too steep at that point.
Most users here seem to be using them to hold the door open. Actually that is what I plan to do also. Just mount them with the flat face against the outer frame of the door when it is in the open position. Then lift the door past the new "stop" and let it drop down.Answered on 8/6/2012 by Don from Troy, MI
