Excellent and getting better

We are a manufacturer (RollingBarge) that builds two story party barges and we use the 8x10 bimini top on the upper deck. We have been purchasing this particular bimini top with the Sunbrella fabric for about 4 years now. They have always been a good value, but our most recent purchase had some significant improvements in the quality and strength of the frame. The price had not gone up, but the quality had. This is rare and made us very happy. We will continue to use these bimini tops on our Party Barges and two story floating docks.

I keep my boat out of state at a summer house. I have not finished the assembly and installation of the top. I have installed several tops on Correct Craft Boats and they were extremely easy. This top needs all of the supports to be assembled and then installed on the boat. I abandoned the installation because I wanted to use rivets for the joining of pieces to make the arms instead of the sheet metal type of screws furnished. I am worried that the ribs will flex alot because of the multiple piece construction. I guess it makes it easy to ship because of all the small pieces but I would prefer one piece bows for a [$]top.

Wish I would have bought this top a long time ago it looks great changed the looks of my boat it looks new agin.. It took me and my son about 4 hour to take the old off and install this one... Its Great....

The directions were too minimal and we put the frame together backwards. After drilling all holes and realizing it didn't lay down properly we called a relative who realized it was backwards. He changed it but the top canvas was then on backwards and the wires for the light now are on the wrong side, so we can't put the back light on.

The Bimini Top installed easier than I thought it would and covers more area than the regular size top. I am really happy with the product and would recommend this to anyone. Great quality, great design and looks good too...

The instruction for this top were weak at best, even for an old hand at installs. Once assembled, it was definatly a two person install onto the boat, again, better instructions would have helped. For the price, the center poles would be greatly enhanced by a full sleave of fabric like the rear and front, instead of the small guide fabric in the middle. It would also keep the side fabric from flapping in the wind. The cost and benefits would be worth it.

Ok if your setting still & no wind. Sides of fabric are not attached to the bows so they flop around in the wind. Sleeve the bows go thru should go all the way to the edges. The mounts on the rail are to flimsy, the whole top wobbles side to side in the wind even when stowed and towing down the road. It is attractive but functionally it needs some design improvements.

Maybe in the future you could add an easy to bolt on trailing arm. (aprx. 6" long to keep it off the upholstery)(Too bad that you do not want price info. but your people probably already know that info. anyway I figure I saved a minimun of $600. by purchasing from Overtons and the frame & fabric are of a superior quality)

  I got the Sunbrella Top with the 6 year warranty on the fabric. It comes with it's own storage boot, light and instalation instructions. When not in use you can have it rest on it's back legs or you can lay it down completely.

I have a 36' Gibson Standard houseboat with no fly bridge. Sundeck railing is 105" (outside to outside. Railing is 1 1/4 inches aluminum and 10' long). Can this top be made to fit or is the width just too wide? Thanks

  A:
  Most bimini type of tops are "generic" in their mounting distance. The bows can be "bent" in or out almost 5" either way. They usually give you a dimension of, for example 90", it would bend in or out 5". Unless you buy a boat specific top from the manufacturer all the aftermarket tops are like this. This also makes these tops less expensive. I once tried to buy a bimini top right from Correct Craft and the price was a couple hundred dollars higher.

  The pontoon bimini tops only come in 8' or this 10'. If you would like to reference the 8' top with similar specs to this 10' please see item 76130 (standard frame) and 76231 (free standing frame).
