These wear indicator anodes have a red plastic indicator embedded within that appears on the surface when the anode wears to half its original size. By simply inspecting the anode for the dot, you can easily determine when to replace it. Made of a special aluminum alloy which provides better protection, is environmentally friendly, and is 2 1/2 times lighter than zinc.
