These are absolutely the best thing I've ever bought for my boat. I have an older boat with an even older trailor that was a hassle to load. It was a 2 person job, with me getting wet, & took a few tries to get on, unless it was power loaded. Now that I have these on, my boat loads like a dream! Simply pull the boat up with the bow line & the back guides do the work for me, DONE. The only drawback at all was the bolts & washers that came with them. The washers were just a little too wide & the bolts were a little too short. A quick drive to the hardware store & I had them installed in about 30 minutes. I installed them about 1" away from the boat & they work great! The price was also the best I found. An absolute need for a boat trailor that has any issues at all loading, including loading on a windy day or rough water.

These guide on's worked well for one season. At the start of season 2, one of the "galvanized" Chinese metal supports started to rot and eventually cracked. I brought it to a welder who said the metal was too thin to weld as it was only 1/16th inches thick, and the arc would likely blast right thorugh it. He commented that for a boat guide-on applicaiton, it should have been at least 1/8" thick. Contacted the folks at tiedown.com who manufacture this product and they would not help me...stated I must go through Overtons special order dept to obtain replacement, which costs $45 (including a whopping $15 shipping charge). Since this was more than 1/2 of the original cost for an entire new set, I opted out. The rating is based on the quality of the materials and the poor customer support and uncaring attitude from the folks at tiedown.com. There are other options for guide on's from more reputable manufacturers.
