Great tool in shallow waters, a bit tricky to install but great reading. I added clear silicone around the seams of the devise to make it waterproof.

Comments about HawkEye DF1120S Micro-Display Digital Depth Sounder:

Easier to install than manual implies. I just taped it down with some vaseline inside the hull. It blasted through about 1" of fiberglass no problem. The major issue is that the unit is not lighted so it cannot be seen in the dark. Need to use a flashlight. Terrible omission.

              RE:Not Waterproof on my PWC

              By Overton's Tech

Comments about HawkEye DF1120S Micro-Display Digital Depth Sounder:

We have made contact with the manufacturer regarding the issue and that they have taken precautions to make sure that this issue has been resolved. Please keep in mind that a saltwater application is harsher than regular freshwater. This is especially true with jet skis that are flip over many times in saltwater.

Great EXCEPT it is NOT waterproof. I have owned about 4 of these and they all were fried after 1/2 a season as the salt water infiltrated the electronics. They need better sealing.

This is a great product, its always good to have an idea of just how deep the water your in is. So far I've found it to be accurate and very useful. The installation was slightly harder than they made it seem, but overall great product.

This unit is made to mount in a fiberglass hull. For a pontoon boat you will need a system that has a transom mount transducer.
