Twice as powerful as the previous HERO, GoPro's new HERO3 Black Edition camera is the smallest, lightest, most powerful HERO camera ever. Weighing in at only 2.6 oz., the HERO3 is wearable, gear-mountable, and waterproof to 197 ft. (60m). The HERO3 captures ultra-wide video at 30 frames per second (1080p), 48 fps (960p), and 60 fps (720p), all at WVGA-120 resolutions and frame rates. It also captures crisp and clear 12MP still photos at a rate of 10 images per second with burst mode, or time-lapse photos at 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, or 60 second intervals. The HERO3's reduced-distortion, aspherical lens works in 1080p with user-selectable ultra-wide, medium, and narrow fields of view to deliver a variety of perspective-capture options. Additional camera settings include looping video, continuous photo, manual white balance control, Protune mode, and simultaneous still/video capture, so you can shoot like a pro.

The HERO3 also includes built-in Wi-Fi, allowing you to control it remotely with its included Wi-Fi Remote or from practically any iOS/Android smartphone or tablet using the free GoPro app. The included Wi-Fi Remote is waterproof and wearable and can control up to 50 Wi-Fi enabled GoPros at a time at a range of up to 600 ft.

The HERO3's fully redesigned audio system is as adept at capturing the subtle, natural sounds of voices and music as it is at capturing the immersive sounds of action sports. Its improved wind-noise reduction helps ensure that you'll hear more of your passion and less of the wind during high-speed activities.

The HERO3 also features tons of connectivity options, including a micro HDMI port, USB port, and a port for an optional 3.5mm stereo mic adapter or composite A/V adapter (adapters not included). The HERO 3 also supports class 10 microSD cards up to 64GB (not included) for plenty of memory storage. The HERO3 is fully compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7 and later, and Mac OS X 10.5 and later.
