Product Description
Rods in the Mr. Walleye Series feature 100% carbon fiber graphite prepreg cloth. Each model uses its own special mandrel for rolling the blank, making each rod unique to its action. Contoured, all-natural, 1" OD cork handles and fore grips. A stainless ring bound inside a stainless frame allows the use of all types of line, while maintaining the light weight needed for proper rod balance. Tapered rear handle with a 1-1/16"-diameter, soft rubber, rounded butt cap. Fits easily into rod holders without impeding your ability to remove rod quickly. Tapered fore grip with composition cork tip. Hook keepers are properly aligned with guide train, and fixed. Tapered reel seats with soft-touch exterior. Non-Slide blank capture feature on all telescopic modelskeeps blank from sliding when rod is in collapsed position. This rod is a consistent best-seller. A lighter trolling rod designed for smaller planer board with spinners and crank baits, either shallow or deep. Ideal with 1/2-1 oz. bottom bouncers. Specialized action for light biters. Attach the sinker 10' ahead of the crank bait or crawler harness. If trolling 30' of water for suspended fish, let out 45' of line to the sinker. In deeper water, adjust accordingly in front of the harness for the deeper fish. If fish are up higher, adjust to lessen the weight. This 8'6" Telescopic Rod has medium action, line weight of 8-14 lbs., and lure weight of 3/8-1 oz. |

Haven't used it yet, but am looking forward to it.
Here's another plus: No shipping charge, other than the $5 oversize charge.
Here's a minus: Price of rod was higher (by 15%) than I would have paid with another on-line retailer--shipping might have evened things out though.
One more minus: Rod and container were irreparably damaged during shipping.
One more plus: Gander replaced the (new) damaged rod immediately; this time with no problems.
