Comments about GSI Outdoors Enamelware Percolator 8 Cup - Red:
Enamel wear always lasts a long time. No instructions with the product; I like strong coffee so I brew 5 cups of water for 4 cups of coffee at highest flame for 7-8 minutes (1 tbsp. ground coffee per 1 cup). What I worry about is how flimsy the stem&basket are--they bend VERY easily and I expect them to snap at some point in the not-too-distant future. I hope at that time to be able to find sturdier replacements but I don't at this time know where to look.

Comments about GSI Outdoors Enamelware Percolator 8 Cup - Red:
aluminum stem and basket are not sturdy and bent in the dishrack under a dessert plate. The glass top to the lid has come loose and will not stay tight, also the clasp for the lid is very weak and so the top falls off frequently. Cheaply made and not worth it except for a country display

Comments about GSI Outdoors Enamelware Percolator 8 Cup - Red:
I bought the stainless steel version of this pot yesterday. The stainless steel is not pictured on the website, but is stocked in the store. WOW!
It is more expensive than the enamel version. I think that I spent $60-ish on this pot...but it is BEAUTIFUL...and makes a great cup of coffee.
I'm done with drip coffee-makers that clog up from my hard water on our farm. Normally I have to replace the drip coffee makers several times a year. They get sooooo clogged up that even cleaning with vinegar montly doesn't work after a while.
This pot makes excellent coffee and looks fantastic. It is high -polish stainless steel (modern) in a classical country/western coffee pot design. I can leave it on my stove for convenience and decoration. I have tossed out our old, clunky, ugly plastic and glass drip coffee pot that takes up so much counter space.
It is easily cleanable...never fails...great. The gurgling/percolating is so soothing, and the aroma of the coffee is wonderful as it wafts through the house in the morning. So simple, so lovely...just great!
I will get another for our retirement home in Denver, Colorado. That's how much I like it. Note: one can purchase this via the Internet, but I wanted to "touch and feel" it before purchasing. To save you time....go directly to a fine camping store where they have a selection of various stove-top (outdoor) percolators. The stove-top percolators must not be popular anymore, because I could not find them in the large-box stores on the shelves. I found them on the Internet, but not in person. High level camping stores have a variety of true outdoor, bang-around percolators all the way up to this beautiful version of a classic percolator.
