I use this 1500 reel on a St. Croix Avid. I fish walleyes with a jig or lindy and am usually fishing structure.
My budget at the high end is $150-$200 for a rod and under $100 for a reel. I have 5 different rigs for walleye fishing and this one is the most expensive I own. [got three kids that get my minnow money these days]
This reel is great. I could really tell the difference in how smooth and tight the action was. My other reels are $50-$60, and this reel was a step up.
Would like to own another but when budget is tight, I spend the extra dough on the fishing pole.
If you're in a higher tax bracket and money is no problem, then why are you even reading this. Go out and buy 2 and send me one. :-)
